2023-24 Grand Slam High School Bat Speed Development Program

 

The Grand Slam Bat Speed Development program is a 3 phase series designed to improve baseball and softball hitters overall mechanics, bat speed and power, and pitch recognition and adjustability.  Utilizing the most current approaches and tools, including weighted and training bats, Rapsodo, and video analysis, this series will provide the most in-depth development plan to prepare hitters for their upcoming seasons!

 

Phase 1

Phase 1 is a 5 week program that will focus on mechanical development
of the hitter. This program focuses on mechanical development and body control within the
swing. This program is limited to 8 players per group. The first phase of the bat
speed development series offers players the opportunity to continue to build their skill set and
prepare them for phase 2 of the program where we get into the strength aspect of bat speed.

Phase 2

Phase 2 is a 4 week program that will focus on strength and bat speed
development within the swing. Using RAPSODO, video analysis, and the most advanced bat
speed development techniques, players will learn to hit high velocity and how to generate
more bat speed. 

To be eligible for this program, players have to have either completed phase 1 or
completed 8 private lessons with a Grand Slam instructor.

Phase 3

Phase 3 of the bat speed development program focused on pitch recognition and hitting
offspeed pitches. Using drills aimed at developing adjustability and pitch recognition
within the swing to add power and improve quality of batted balls, players will learn to hit
breaking balls with more power and recognize pitches earlier.
