Mick Delaney, Manager
Mick has been at Grand Slam since 2014. He is in charge of the day to day office operations as well as doing both group and individual lessons. Mick averages over 20 hours of lessons per week doing both hitting and catching lessons, as well as working with High School Softball teams for their offseason hitting programs. Throughout the year Mick has over 70 clients he works with for both Baseball and Softball. He is entering his 10th year as a High School Baseball coach. For the past 5 years Mick has been the Varsity Hitting and Catchers Coach at Urbandale High School helping lead the J-Hawks to back to back State Championships in 2018 and 2019. He is beginning his first year as the Varsity Hitting and Catchers Coach at Northwest High School in Waukee in 2023.

John Bisignano, Manager, Strength and Conditioning Director

John is entering his 6th year with Grand Slam U.S.A. serving as one of our managers, lead pitching instructor, and recently our strength and conditioning director with the addition of our new strength and conditioning program, Grand Slam Strength. John is a Des Moines native, playing his high school ball at Dowling Catholic, and going on to play at Southwestern Community College, University of Nebraska-Kearney, and Grand View University, where he graduated with a degree in Kinesiology. John has combined his background in exercise science and baseball to develop numerous new programs to help further drive our player development here at Grand Slam, and open the doors to athletes of all sports with the addition of Grand Slam Strength. Outside of Grand Slam, John enjoys spending time with his wife Maddie and their 3 pets and is a competitive powerlifter.

Mike Joseph, Instructor, Youth Camp Director, Slammers Coach and Staff

Mike is beginning his 3rd year instructing with Grand Slam serving as our lead catching instructor and recently taking the role as Youth Camp Director. Mike graduated from Dowling Catholic High School and went on to play college baseball at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota. He has an extensive coaching background at the high school and club levels, having coached at Roosevelt, Dowling Catholic, and currently serving as assistant coach with Jim's 18U Iowa Slammers fastpitch club. Outside of Grand Slam, Mike is married with 2 children and works full time home remodeling and carpentry.

John Taylor

John Taylor, Instructor, Iowa Slammers Staff

John is entering his 3rd year as an instructor here at Grand Slam. John is our lead instructor for our youth fundamental clinics as well as the lead instructor for our youth softball camps, while also servicing youth baseball and softball hitting clinics along with his individual lessons. John has a knack for working with youth and beginner athletes, and is one of the best when it comes to teaching and reinforcing the fundamentals of the game. Along with his work in the facility, John is a staff member for the Iowa Slammers, a high school club softball program partnered with Grand Slam. John is a Des Moines native, graduating from West Des Moines Valley and going on to play college baseball at Ellsworth CC. John is married with 3 children who he coaches in baseball, softball, and basketball, and he works in the Waukee School District.

Jevon Mason

Jevon Mason, Instructor

Jevon Mason is from West Des Moines, Iowa and began his collegiate baseball  career by attending Iowa Western Community College, where he played for two seasons. In 2019, he made it to the NJCAA World Series in Grand Junction, Colorado. Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, he managed to showcase his talents in a shortened 2020 season and secured a scholarship to Southeast Missouri State University, a Division 1 institution in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. At SEMO, Jevon played all three outfield positions and batted leadoff for the RedHawks from 2021-2023. In 2022, he led the Ohio Valley Conference and placed 23rd in the country with 72 runs scored. In addition, he led his team with 24 multi-hit games. In 2021 and 2022 the RedHawks made back to back regional appearances where Jevon was awarded with all tournament team honors both years. Following his collegiate career, Jevon pursued his passion for baseball professionally. In 2023, he played professional baseball for the Great Falls Voyagers out of the Pioneer League. Throughout his baseball career, Jevon has had the privilege of learning from knowledgeable coaches and competing alongside some of the nation’s top players. Over the past six years, he has had the opportunity to share his knowledge by working with baseball players through youth camps, recruitment camps, and individual/ group lessons for players around the country. Jevon really enjoys the game of baseball and what it has to offer and looks forward to share experiences and knowledge with the youth baseball community around Iowa.

Luc Farren

Luc Farren, Instructor

Luc joined the Grand Slam staff in August of 2022, serving as a hitting instructor, running many of our youth hitting clinics as well as individual lessons. He also assists in the Grand Slam Baseball Club, running practices for several of our teams. Luc is originally from Illinois, coming to Iowa to play baseball at Central College. At Central, he was a team captain for 3 years, and assisted in leading individual and group hitting and fielding development sessions.

Tyler Steward, Instructor

Tyler has been with Grand Slam since last winter, serving as a pitching instructor for both youth pitching clinics as well as individual lessons. Tyler also assists with pitching instruction within the Grand Slam Baseball Club, working with several of our club teams in their pitchers development. A Norwalk graduate, he went on to pitch collegiately at Central College where he graduated with a degree in computer science. Tyler is the newest member of the Grand Slam staff but has quickly immersed himself in our program.

Brock Sailer

Brock Sailer, Instructor

Brock joined the staff last year, instructing many of our Pitching and Fundamentals clinics, as well as offering individual lessons in those areas.  He also coaches for the Grand Slam fall league. Brock graduated from Waukee High School. He went on to pitch collegiately at Iowa Central CC and earned his associate degree. Brock then went to Grand View University to continue playing baseball and finish getting his bachelor’s degree in liberal arts. Outside of Grand Slam, Brock enjoys spending time with his girlfriend, friends, and family, taking in what life has to offer.
