2023 GRAND SLAM USA FALL LEAGUE & CLINIC REGISTRATION
Grand Slam USA is organizing its 26th annual Fall Baseball League along with our high school fall skills clinics. This league is for 9th through 12th graders who want to get extremely vital repetitions in the fall and experience game situations.
8 scheduled games on Sundays at noon, with a potential to play 11 games with playoffs.
Each team will play at least 6 games (rainouts), and 8 official games are scheduled (7 regular seasons and one playoff game).
7 inning game or 2-hour and 30-minute time LIMIT.
156 Registrations will be accepted – all registrations after the limit will be put on a 16 player waiting list
1 qualified Head Coach and 2 IHSAA Certified Umpires for each game
2 League wide player development sessions per week
Every player will be in the batting order every game and open substitution on defense
All games will be played at High School or Senior League fields throughout the Des Moines Metro Area
This year, we have restructured our Fall League to include weekly player development sessions for all players in the league to help create the total package of skill development and live repetitions. Athletes will be able to participate in 2 skill development sessions a week, led by our top Grand Slam instructors, focusing on defense, hitting, and pitching and catching if applicable. These player development sessions will allow athletes to hone their skills with more individual attention and instruction, and then execute those skills in weekend games. This will provide a more well rounded, development focused league experience.
EVALUATION CAMP INFORMATION
Our Evaluation Camp is formatted very similarly to the showcase format. Players will be tested on foot speed, arm strength, bat speed, lateral quickness, and defensive skills. For pitchers and catchers, we also have each of them throw and catch bullpens. For pitchers, we will be charting their velocity, how well they pitch around the zone, and how well they throw their off-speed pitches. For catchers, we will be evaluating how well they receive the pitch, how well they block balls in the dirt, and how well they work with pitchers. Data gathered at this Camp will be sent directly to the following schools if certain criteria are met. Each of them sets its criteria.
